ME.
I'm a food+travel blogger, self-taught baker and cook, dessert table designer, aspiring photographer, mommy, wife, and worker bee. Not necessarily in that order. My family shares a certain wanderlust, and as a result, I was born overseas and moved to the Greek Islands when I was less than one week old. I have lived in at least ten different cities in four countries, and I currently make my home in Northern California. There was a time when I spoke fluent French and Italian; now I just dabble. My brushes with fame have included blending fruit smoothies for Robin Williams during a birthday party at his ranch in Napa, receiving a $100 tip for serving one drink to Al Jarreau, sitting next to Johnny Cash at a San Francisco sushi bar, and a fleeting encounter with Audrey Hepburn at I.Magnin. In college, I turned down an offer to sing back-up for a would-be country singer during his European tour. (I always wonder what would have happened if I had agreed.) My hair color is unpredictable platinum blonde now 100% natural. All of this makes me dubiously qualified to write a food/travel/life blog... I think.
In July 2011 - without much of a plan - I decided to take an indefinite break from a successful career as a lawyer. It was the scariest, most difficult, and best decision I have ever made. It's not easy to forge a new path, but it is rewarding. Every day I am thankful for my three amazing kids (who will make occasional appearances on this site), and my wonderful, supportive husband who has held my hand through the hard times and the good for over 15 years.
THE BLOG.
This blog is a way of sharing little tastes of my life, my kitchen, my photography and my travels. I love to bake, cook, write, travel, make pictures, sing, and play with my food. This blog is very personal to me, and when you visit my site, it's almost as if you have been invited into my home. So be kind. Thanks for stopping by!
